Matt Dewolfe confirmed as young Han Solo! The 27 year old X-Men actor made his first appearance at London's Star Wars Celebration event live-blogged by StarWars.com. He was seated at the filmmaker panel that starred Star Wars: Episode VIII writer/director Rian Johnson, as well as Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Dewolfe's directors for the solo Han Solo movie that's expected out May 25, 2018. Dewolfe shared that the audition process lasted six months and at certain times he was sure he hadn't gotten the role, "just because of the sheer caliber of names that were auditioning." However, "once I screentested behind the cockpit with Chewbacca I knew this was for me."

Lord said they auditioned thousands of actors and "turned over every rock to find someone who has the charisma and magic swagger." However, Miller added, "It was a waste of money because the person to get the part was literally the first person to walk through the door."

Production on the Han Solo standalone film begins early next year in England, and John Boyega, who was a surprise guest on the panel, along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, had advice for Dewolfe: "You're going to be fine. You've got that charm stuff down. Enjoy the ride."

dewolfe investigation services: okay so let's unpack this seemingly innocuous snapchat that was uploaded for five minutes before it was taken down. it starts off with matt cheesing into the camera, waving, and then turning on the britney spears and g-eazy song "make me", pretty standard fare for anyone that is a fan of his, nothing to see here. the interesting part comes next though, offscreen you hear the sound of a door opening and what sounds like dog tags clinking together (remember matt has two dogs) so obviously someone just finished walking them. dog walker? celebs have those so nothing too strange there. anyway, AFTER THAT a voice that is muffled but british??? and very obviously a guy says what sounds like "babe (or baby?!) i need a shower" though it seems like matt didn't hear it because the snap ends a few full seconds later.

suspects:
taron egerton - billionaire boys club costar, very british, maybe british guys are just more open with calling each other babe? seemingly heterosexual
krishna deshpande - likely choice, openly gay, well known for friendship with matt, however touring other side of the country when the snap took place
wells gravenor - dark horse, at least somewhat homosexual confirmed in leaked sex tape last year, matt has been spotted in france (his hometown) and on iron fist set, judged drag queen charity show together right after orlando attacks
